Every year, Saint Joseph Catholic School sets aside a day during Advent for the students to perform community service.

Centers are set up throughout the parish to benefit charitable organizations through projects like toy, food, and clothing drives, crafting soup bowls for the annual spring Operation Soup Bowl fundraiser for the hungry, making decorations for senior citizens' tables, or creating greetings for soldiers.

Some organizations send speakers to talk about their mission, and by the end of the day, students remember the true meaning of giving.
